Advantages Of

01/

Energy Efficiency
Twinwall polycarbonate sheet has the ability of light transmission, which helps to reduce the usage of lights inside a facility. They also have high resistance to UV rays that is why they are widely used in greenhouses. This material possesses great thermal insulation that reduces the heat coming from the sun making the whole room feel cool.

02/

Weather Resistance
The twinwall polycarbonate sheet when used as a skylight can withstand the worst weather. Polycarbonate sheets are 200 times stronger than fiberglass, so you don't need to worry much about the damage. And it can protect you from the harsh light coming from the sun.

03/

UV Ray Protection
Getting too much exposure to UV rays can cause a lot of damage to our skin. twinwall polycarbonate sheets block UV rays providing better protection from the sun compared to other plastic materials.

04/

Flexibility
They are flexible which means you can use this material in curved applications, like in waiting-sheds in commercial spaces. This is one of the reasons why the twinwall polycarbonate sheets are preferred for these kinds of applications where the unique look and design is the focal point of the building.

05/

Fire Resistance
Compared to other roofing materials, polycarbonate sheets are heat and flame retardants.

06/

Lightweight
Twinwall polycarbonate sheets displays high impact strength. They are lightweight, easy to carry and install.

Twinwall Polycarbonate Sheet Production Process

Raw Material Preparation

The first step is preparing the polycarbonate resin by blending BPA with stabilisers and UV absorbers. This mixture is melted to form a homogenous liquid.

Extrusion

The molten polycarbonate resin is then fed into an extruder, which applies pressure and heat to further melt the material. The extruder consists of a screw that pushes the molten resin through a die, shaping it into a continuous sheet.

Cooling and Solidification

As the extruded polycarbonate sheet exits the die, it passes through a series of cooling rollers or a water bath to rapidly cool and solidify the material. This controlled cooling process helps prevent warping and ensures uniform thickness across the sheet.

Trimming and Finishing

After solidification, the polycarbonate sheet is trimmed to the desired dimensions. It may undergo additional processes like surface treatments (e.g., UV protection coating) or texturing for specific applications.

Quality Control

Throughout the manufacturing process, quality control measures are implemented to ensure the final product meets the required standards.

Twinwall Polycarbonate Sheet Recommended Uses

Patio or Lanai: Entertain guests all day long under beautiful blue skies with clear, environmentally-friendly roofing materials that let the light in while protecting them from UV rays.
Outdoor Stadiums and Gymnasiums: Most sports work best in a real outdoor setting. Set up your sports stadium or gymnasium in a way that it shields everyone from the harsh elements and unbearable heat due to the air insulation within a twin wall polycarbonate sheet– all while keeping the natural glow of sunshine on the game.
Roof decks: Whether you use your roof deck as extra entertainment space, a home workout area, or maybe even an urban garden, you can safely enjoy the additional space, cool air and pleasant atmosphere, and let your plants get their daily dose of sunshine with polycarbonate roofing.
Tourist Attractions: Whether you run a hotel or a restaurant at a scenic tourist destination like a skyline or a beach, a twin wall polycarbonate panel fit into a curved wall or a dome makes for a breathtaking site.
Outdoor Spaces: Whether you are making something as simple as a waiting shed or as big as an outdoor function space, creating a curved roof is both practical and pleasing to the eyes.
Skylights: Give your home or office building a unique feature by creating a curved skylight. Not only does it lend your structure a touch of artistry and ambiance, but it also provides natural lighting in an otherwise dimly-lit hall.

Twinwall Polycarbonate Sheet Install

● Before installing your twinwall polycarbonate sheet, drill a few holes at the lower end of the sheet to fix it firmly by adding screws to the drilled holes. This will prevent the sheet from moving once installed.
● The dust created by drilling the twinwall polycarbonate sheet should be cleaned from the inner rooms by a vacuum cleaner.
● Now push the twin-wall polycarbonate sheet between the glazing bars and ensure that the printed film is facing upwards.
● Cose the open ends with a ceiling tape to avoid breathing and airflow inside the twinwall polycarbonate sheet.
● Ensure the ceiling tape is not torn or leaked that might result in the sheet's breathing.
● You need to keep in mind that twinwall polycarbonate sheets tend to expand under different temperatures and pressures, and you might expect up to 3 mm expansion. So keep at least a 3mm distance between the glazing bar and the sheet.
● After pushing the twinwall polycarbonate sheet in the right position and installing screws to the drilled holes, close the holes with a rubber cap or plastic cap to avoid breathing.
● If you are installing more than one twin-wall polycarbonate sheet, you need to keep some space between the sheets and install a glazing bar between the twin-wall polycarbonate sheets.
● You need to install a ‘T' shaped glazing bar between the two sheets by keeping a 3mm distance.
● Then you have to hit the upper surface of the glazing bar with a rubber hammer until it flattens with the sheet's surface. This is the correct way to install a glazing bar between sheets.

● Don't hit the glazing bar too hard because it will make the button part go downwards.
● Ensure the glazing bar is flattened with the sheet's surface, but the base of the glazing bar is not bending downwards.
● Now shut the closing ends with ‘F' and ‘U' profile glazing bars to stop breathing.

FAQ

Q: How strong is twinwall polycarbonate sheet?

A: Twinwall polycarbonate sheet is virtually unbreakable. They are 200x times stronger than glass and it is a good tool to use as a roof. It can resist adverse weather and hailstorm and wind. These unbreakable and weather-resistant sheets are widely popular for greenhouse and roofing applications, especially in storm-prone areas or and harsh weather conditions.

Q: Can you bend the twinwall polycarbonate sheet?

A: Yes, the twinwall polycarbonate sheet is strong and can be bent or curved according to the need, but this should be bent longitudinally and never across the sheet's width. Nomally, the bending radius is 150 times longer than thickness.

Q: Can I use twinwall polycarbonate sheet as roofing sheet?

A: Yes, but I recommend you to use polycarbonate roofing panel, which is designed for roofing application, only.

Q: How to clean twinwall polycarbonate sheet?

A: It is easy to clean twinwall polycarbonate sheet. First, you need to apply water on the polycarbonate sheet with a water sprayer or pipe.
Then soak a soft cloth or a sponge in the soap water (mild) and gently rub the sheet to clean the dirt on it. Avoid using rough or hard clothes to clean the polycarbonate sheet because it might result in scratch marks.
